Listening is the first step towards learning any language. That is how babies learn their mother tongue. The next step would be trying to replicate what you hear. Looking for the meanings of the words and then reading. Practice makes a man perfect. Without feeling intimated by being judged by others, freely practice and speak, even if you know you probably may be making mistakes. It's fine as long as you wish to correct yourself and learn.
