• Start with reading newspapers and blogs. That would help you understand the way the sentences are constructed. 
• Learn a few new words every day. Google Assistant app has this game that helps you understand a word while letting you know how to use it. It also helps with synonyms and pronunciation.
• Write an essay on any random topic - at least two a week, or you could write a couple of sentences every day.

You might want to try this: 

• First things first: Get into a job that can help you balance your personal and professional lives. Since your credentials are in demand in the market, it should not be tough to land a job.
• Next: Now that you're in a job, that is your security. You can get into courses depending on what profile you'd be working on already.
• Reason: Now that you already have hands-on experience, it shouldn't be tough to pave your IT path.

You could start with "Wordpower made easy" by Normal Lewis, to get familiarized and fluent with the words; their usage and meaning and improves one's vocabulary. With an effort of one hour a day, you could easily be able to understand many terms. Then, reading a lot would be a booster. Movies could help too. But, that would be more of a spoken pattern and would include a lot of jargon and portrays colloquialism.
