I am a private tutor. I teach grade 3 to 7 students. I love teaching, and focus is on practical way of learning and less theoretical. I was a private home-based tutor and now provide on line tuition. I carry out 1 to 1 session to make learning more personalized for the child. We (Student and Teacher) work together during the session and figure out ways to learn effectively) I do a mix and max of subjects and topics to make the sessions interesting and less boring. This is part of the learning curve. If time permits, we take up HOTS (High Order Thinking skills) tasks during the session. Children are not given much of home work and the learning is summarized during the session only. The curriculum, content is taken strictly only from school text books. While the learning is more oriented to learn a given chapter, Q&A, etc, I also touch upon grammar, phonics, vocabulary, pronunciation and comprehension. Children are encouraged to do a self-assessment and given time to rework the solution. I teach in English language, can converse/understand – Hindi, Marathi and Malayalam. For the primary grades, I teach all subjects excluding the local language, which helps full time working mothers to focus on their profession
