Subrata Sarangi

Hello! I am Subrata Sarangi, a seasoned physicist with 29 years of experience in the field. I hold a BSc and MSc in Physics from IIT Kanpur, and a Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics Theory from the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL) in Ahmedabad. In addition to my academic qualifications, I have completed two post-doctoral fellowships—one at PRL and another at the National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL), which have significantly contributed to my expertise in various areas of physics.

I have had the privilege of teaching at some of the prestigious institutions across India, including BITS Pilani, and several universities in Bhubaneswar, Kanpur, Raipur, and Ranchi. Additionally, I worked at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) and the Centurion University of Technology and Management, where I received the Best Faculty Award for my contributions to teaching. My academic journey has provided me with invaluable exposure to both theoretical and practical aspects of physics, allowing me to develop a deep understanding of subjects like Electromagnetic Theory, Mechanics, Heat, Thermodynamics, and Physical Optics.

In recent years, I embraced online teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic and started offering part-time online sessions to students. As a result, I have honed my ability to deliver high-quality education in the online format, ensuring that my students receive personalized attention despite the virtual setting. My approach emphasizes the interactive nature of learning, fostering an environment where students can ask questions, solve problems, and clarify their concepts in real-time.

Currently, I am a visiting associate at The Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics, where I continue to stay at the forefront of research in my field. My ongoing involvement in research ensures that I bring cutting-edge knowledge to my teaching, offering my students the most up-to-date information and insights in physics. I have published several research papers on Nuclear Physics and related topics, and I continually strive to integrate the latest findings into my lessons.

My primary teaching focus lies in undergraduate and postgraduate level physics, where I cover a broad spectrum of topics, from mechanics and thermodynamics to the complexities of electromagnetic theory and physical optics. I work to make these subjects accessible by breaking down difficult concepts into easy-to-understand lessons. I also use real-world examples and applications to help students understand how these theories are used in scientific advancements.

My sessions are typically one hour long and are conducted online, ensuring flexibility for students from across the country. I conduct interactive live sessions, where students actively participate in discussions, problem-solving, and concept reinforcement. I also provide notes and other resources to help students reinforce their learning. My goal is to inspire a passion for physics in my students and help them achieve success in their academic and professional pursuits.
