Indian Music: Why aren't there as many female tabla players ?

I think the primary reason is that historically the tabla (perhaps completely unintentional) has come across as something males pursue. I think the primary reason is that historically the tabla (perhaps completely unintentional) has come across as something males pursue.

But that has not stopped may women from passionately pursuing this and being successful as well. I hope you’re aware of these wonderfully talented ladies: 

For example -Anuradha pal , Rimpa Siva ,Ratnaasree lyer , mitali vinchurkar etc.

Why Drums(Dholki, tabla) are allowed inside temples?

Dholki, tabla are made up of animal skin, similarly some priests meditate on deer skin. They are allowed inside temple premises because animals are not slaughtered to obtain this skin, it's taken from dead animals. Whereas to make belts, shoes etc animals are slaughtered.
