Firstly, I think you are still too young to represent. You need in depth knowledge of certain topics related to the UN, the structure of the UN etc. Also there aren't many countries that have such programmes for youth participation at the UN. As far as I know there are only 8 countries that have such representatives at the General Assembly. If you do not belong to one of these countries, realistically it will be very hard for you to convince or lobby with your government to start such a program. Again it depends solely on your country (hardest for eg:- India,Pakistan,China etc and considerably easy for countries such as Hungary, Denmark, Finland etc). As I have worked for UN conferences, I can assure that it is a very good experience to be able to see the world come together at a single platform to engage in talks and discussions. But to become an Ambassador(youth), you will need to to at least have completed your University with preferably majoring in International Relations/Law/Economics. If you have worked previously in MUN conferences or interned with the UN or at your country's Foreign Ministry(or equivalent) or you have participated in Youth Forums, debates on current issues etc, all these will be considered and make an impact on your selection process to become a youth ambassador at the UN. If your country doesn't have such a system of representation at the UN, here are the steps of how you can establish it : Some countries have existing programmes to select youth delegates. You can determine this by looking at the list of former youth delegates of previous years. If your country does not have a programme in place to select a youth delegate, your task will be two-fold: First, you have to convince your country on the importance of having a youth representative in its delegation to the UN General Assembly. And secondly, once they've established the position, you will have to initiate a selection process.
