I am a New York & New Delhi based actor currently studying at the Lee Strasberg theatre and film institute. Born and brought up in the cultural hub New Delhi, India, I have been working on my craft over years of training in both theatre and films. I also write and direct my own ideas shaped into films. I take private classes for students from USA, Kazakhstan, Kuwait and India. I recently was invited as the guest speaker for webinar held by Galgotias University to talk about the initial aspects of acting. How can I get the fluency in speaking English? When I talk with my friends in English, that time it is ok but, when I come to my home, I use my mother tongue for communication. In this way, I don't get much time to speak English. So, how to get an English speaking environment?

I understand this, and I believe the best way to solve is by focusing on reading and listening when you are at home and can't converse in the language. Reading of any kind is suitable for the beginning; it must be consistent. Later on, you could transition to novels or biographies which need committed readers. Similarly, another tool to develop your ear and catch accurate pronunciations and learn new words, an effortless way is to watch a lot of English language films/shows. It takes time, but this is another tool to develop your English.
