Mohsin Ali Khan

I was born in the very famous Bhindi Bazar Muradabad Guarana, one of the traditional music schools of India. This Gharana is renowned for Hindustani vocal music. The hallmark of this Gharana are gamak, meend, purity of swar and sargam which comes from the Mer Khand style.
I received his early training in tabla from his uncle Ustad Dayam Ali Khan and vocal music from his father Ustad Wazir Ali Khan. Later, he started learning sitar from his uncle Ustad Matloob Hussain Khan. After some years, Mohsin heard a sitar recital by Pandit Partho Das, a well-known musician-composer, and was greatly attracted to his style. Since then. I trained under Pandit Partho Das. He has successfully blended the best of both teachers, and this is reflected in me rendering of my music. I am an 'A' grade artist of the All India Radio. He won the first prize in the All India Music Competition in 1990. He has performed in prestigious conferences in India, as well as in the United States, Mexico, Germany, England, Canada, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Cuba, Russia and several other countries, to enthralled audiences. He has taught Hindustani Music for two years at Singapore Indian Fine Arts (SIFAS), and for a year at Bangladesh and Hong Kong each.
