I have been interested in teaching from a very early age as I consider teaching in my DNA, with my mother and aunts being teachers. Initially I took up tutoring student on a part time basis throughout my college days. This helped me understand and work with students and at the same time provided me with much needed pocket money. After graduation I decided to take up teaching a s a profession hence I opted to do a degree in Education. I learnt the nuances of teaching, how to be an effective teacher, how to make lessons interesting to keep the students inspired. I have done the following in school to become an effective teacher: • Fostering a healthy learning atmosphere in class by recognizing & nurturing the creative potential of each student. • Assisting the students to perform well in the exams. • Recommending instructional materials, teaching aids, and related equipment. • Preparing topic specific worksheets to aid effective learning. • Promoting interactive discussions and “hands-on” approaches to help students learn and get a better understanding of the concerned subject.
