Step 1: Create your ETS account

It is vital for GRE aspirants to create an ETS Account. Once the ETS account is created, then test takers can register for the GRE test, view and print all their GRE scores from the past five years, and make any changes to their existing test reservations.

Note: All these information must match those provided on your ID.

Step2: Book a slot

Once you begin the registration process, then you will have to find available test centres and dates.
  • Test takers can log into ETS Account and navigate to “My GRE Home.”
  • Once you are on the page, click “Register / Find Test Centers, Dates” in the top-left corner.
  • You will be given a list of test centres and dates, and you may select accordingly.
  • Select the test you intend to take, i.e. “GRE General Test”.
  • Seats are available on a first-come, first served basis, so the test takers need to register sooner, this ultimately betters their chances.
NOTE: You can select test centres closest to your location. The more specific you are concerning your location, the better your results will be. Also, you can register for the GRE up to a year in advance but no later than two days before your desired test date.

Step 3: Review your personal information.

Once the candidates have selected their test date and centres, then it is essential to review all the information provided. Once you click “Register” for the desired test session, you’ll confirm your test centre, date, and time before agreeing to the ETS testing policies. While you verify your registration details, you will see some extra pages before getting to the payment page. We have listed few of them here,

  • Would you be interested in free GRE Search Service?

This service allows universities to contact you about programs and unique funding opportunities. Note: This would spam your inbox, and this is optional so you can skip this if needed.
  • Background information

This page will ask the candidates for some background information; here it is best to answer the ones with red asterisks next to them. NOTE:This is needed if you have opted for GRE search service, and you may skip it.
  • Would you be interested in ETS preparation material?

ETS tries to sell their practice materials for $ 40, which is another marketing strategy you may want to skip. You may find better practice books for half the cost.

Step 4: Finalize your payment

After reviewing your information, you can hit the check out option.GRE costs $205 ($150 per GRE subject test). Once payment is successful, candidates receive a confirmation email containing exam date, time, test centre address, and confirmation number.
