I am a journalist, published writer, and editor, with a love for the English language. I realised that I was a good teacher when I began to teach my classmates and peers, in school. By the time I was in senior school, I was taking regular tuitions and assisting students senior to me, with their English curriculum too. I enjoy the process of sharing knowledge and watching people gain understanding, as well as confidence. While having a basic understanding of grammar is important, and lays the foundation stone to the language, I believe it is not impossible to learn to speak conversational English without the support of a grammar book. I prefer teaching adults who find that they are hampered socially and professionally by their lack of comfort with English. It is an absolute joy to know that I have in some way contributed to their growth.
