Wordpress started to support blogs, but later due to its wide community and support it has turned as a powerful CMS for creating enterprise level applications also.

Its not compulsory..but it would be the best if you learn how to use WordPress for building email list.You can pull leads through your WordPress blog/website and it would be the most targeted list than your regular Email marketing list.Also you can integrate email tools like Aweber and MailChimp with... ...more
