Teaching Experience in detail in Verbal Aptitude Coaching
After scoring 95th percentile on tough verbal GMAT, I have been working with students on Sentence Correction, Reading Comprehension, and Critical Reasoning in Concept and Strategy for few years now and was successful in increasing their scores. I understand and redefine their existing approaches to help them answer the questions accurately in a shorter time - A skill most important on all MBA entrance examinations. I provide customized study plan and handle one-on-one unlike the classes that follow 'one rule works for all'.

"I got lucky to have come across Sanjana on Quora. After spending a lot on expensive coaching centers, There was very little score improvement and in fact, I was misguided by many even after studying for a lot of time. When I spoke to her during the free demo session, I was very happy to see her simple yet practical approach to solve problems in a very short time. I signed up for her classes and found an 80 point score improvement. I would definitely recommend her to anyone who is aiming for considerable score improvement in a short time. "

Generally coachin institutes follow ONE SIZE FITS ALL approach, which is an absolute no-no for GMAT. GMAT is a psychometric test, and identifying one's strengths and weaknesses becomes extremely crucial before beginning any prep which unfortunately institutes don't do.
I completely agree self-prep is enough for GMAT. But when deadlines are close and you are not sure where your preparation is headed or you feel stuck in your prep, I highly recommend getting a coach who works with you individually on your strengths and weaknesses. It costs less than spending randomly and is far more efficient.
Working in the right direction is important than just blindly working hard.
Seek help if needed, Good luck!

What is the amount of study you need to put in, how many hours are required, will n number of days be enough, the answer to these is completely subjective. Some get to their dream score in a month and some in an year or more. Ask yourself these questions:
GMAT is a psychometric test, which assesses your mental abilities. Once you have worked on Basics and found your strengths and weaknesses, follow a study routine and practice. Keep giving mocks, when you see your score 40 points away from your average score on the mocks, then give your self atleast a couple of weeks time and book a date.

For GMAT
The above material is good enough for Basics and to get started with the Official Guide practice, later on depending on your Target score and Time you've, decide on how to move ahead after taking a mock.
The material that could help you improve your reading skills in general on GMAT or CAT, start reading Newyork Times, Economist and WSJ. It would help you understand what good writing is.
If you are not an avid reader, start with reading things that interest you. Fiction or self development or biographies etc that have good grammar. Developing a reading habit and increasing your reading speed will go a long way on GMAT, CAT and in general too.
