I don't have any professional experience but I can teach and give you the spirit to feel & taste the basic patterns & give the experience of accompanying singers or jam with any other instrument which can be useful for improving your hobby of playing drums.
I play tabla,dholak,pads,congos,bongos etc. any kind of Drums except mridangam & Kanjeera.
I love accompanying for bhajans personally.

How do I practice playing the tabla?

Hi.. If you are learning under a proper guru, then you can practise that day's or week's lesson in 3 speeds. First slow, next medium & finally fast. Vilambit, Madhya & Dhrut kalaas. Then you will master any lesson. Clarity is important while practising these speeds. Every syllable or sound... ...more

Vilambit, Madhya & Dhrut kalaas.

Then you will master any lesson.

Clarity is important while practising these speeds.

Every syllable or sound you must be able to hear properly.. Take your time.. Don't jump in for fast speed.

 

Playing slow tempo is utmost difficult in handling balance.

Also you can use metronome in mobile app or youtube also for any speed.

You can simultaneously practise with metronome.
