Hello Kasturi!
You can get a certification from the state government, for that you have to enrol yourself for the yearly Carnatic exam conducted by state govt, pay the exam fee, get the hall ticket, write the exam(theory), attend practicals (performance matters). After a month you will have the certificate.
The levels for Karnatic Music is as such according to my knowledge.
Level 1: Sarali varisai,Janta varisai, upper stayi varisai, Daattu varisai. Alankarams with akara sadagams. Geetham. ...
Level 2: Adi tala varnam. Ata tala varnam. Pada varnam.
Level 3: Advanced Krithis. Shyama Sastry Swarajathis.
Level 4: Manodharma Sangeetham. Theory.
Level 5: Pallavi singing.
And two more, maybe.
Proper practise and dedication would be needed for the practicals, and I suggest you buy specific govt textbooks to learn theory for each level.
Now how to enrol, if you can find any music teacher nearby, he/she will guide you further.
