I have taught Chemistry for the last 40 years. I was associated with two renowned institutions - Pathabhavan HS and St. Lawrence HS during my career and mentored 20 plus batches there. Many of my students scored ranks in board and competitive examinations. I wrote a book on Inorganic Chemistry. I have taught students individually and in small batches. My sessions are interactive in style, where I focus on those parts more, where the student is facing difficulty in understanding. Unlike many, I focus on solving numerical problems in a step by step manner, so as to ensure that Chemistry does not remain a set of facts, but more of a verifiable and intriguing subject. My 40+ years of interaction with thousands of students have helped me identify the technique that will be most applicable to the student because there is no one size fits all. The key agenda for me has always been to ignite curiosity in Chemistry in students, by helping them visualize the scientific reasoning behind a chemical reaction and associated topics. I have been a lifelong researcher with significant hands-on experience around Chemical reagents and industry-grade compounds. I have been part of multiple advisory bodies, helping them build their curriculum around preparatory courses for WBJEE, IIT, and other national levels competitive exams.
