I have been playing the guitar since 2009. It's been a journey of passion and perseverance for me. Over the years, I have honed my skills and gained a Grade 5 Trinity certification. I have been teaching guitar for over five years, in-person and online. I have worked with several reputed institutions like Harp'n Lyre Academia Musica Kottayam, School Music Hour, and Blue Star Institute. In addition to these, I have also started my online institute, Sacred Harp, where I offer guitar lessons to students across the globe.
I come from a musical family - my mother is a singer, and she used to teach me Carnatic music. However, as I grew older, I gravitated towards Western music, and the guitar became my style of choice. One of the highlights of my teaching experience has been attending school festivals and participating in band performances with my students.
When it comes to my teaching style, I believe in a regular syllabus that is interspersed with interactive sessions and demo classes. This helps students to not just learn the basics of guitar but also enjoy the learning process. I offer online sessions for individuals and groups of up to three people. In addition to the regular syllabus, I also prepare my students for Trinity exams. I understand that these exams are a crucial stepping stone in a student's guitar learning journey, and I ensure they are well-prepared for it. I also conduct tests and give students PDF notes.
To make learning more accessible, I always enjoyed starting my own YouTube channel where I upload tutorials, tips, and tricks for aspiring guitarists. I believe that music is a universal language and should be accessible to everyone who wants to learn. Playing the guitar and teaching it has been a fulfilling journey for me. It's not just about the notes and chords but about the emotions and expressions that come with it. As a teacher, I strive to instil this love and passion for music in my students and help them become confident guitar players.
