My suggestion is that you should focus on learning rather than coming in the merit list. Let me tell you, 10th board exam is overrated. What will really help you in life is not your rank in the board but the basic level knowledge that you will carry with you coming out of school. Let's look at 2 scenarios Scenario 1: you get very good marks in board, but you do not remember anything that you have learnt post your exams. You will get into a very good college, but shall suffer in your future classes. I have seen many people who used rote learning to gain good marks in 10th. They did secure good marks. They gained temporary appreciation from parents, teachers and others, but they did not do well in future classes. So focus on methods of learning that will ensure you clear your school level concepts well, as no one is going to teach you this on your higher standards. Let's look at scenario 2: let's say you go to the exam by clearing all your concepts but for some reason secure only average marks in board exams and you intend to be an engineer. There are so many colleges that offer science these days that I am sure you will get admission somewhere. So let's assume you manage to get admission in a very average college for 11th and 12th. What will help you know is the knowledge that you have gained in school. Your basics will be so clear that next step will be easier for you and you will crack exams for einginnering entrance. These entrance exams are more knowledge oriented. You need to be more knowldegable to crack them. Rote learning will not help you. I believe what I have just said applies for all future studies. In higher studies too focus on gaining knowledge and not marks. My suggesting will make studies enjoyable and less burden of gaining marks will keep you relaxed. I suggest you should take 10th board exams easy. Khelo kudo yaar. Ye din vapas nahi ayege. Remember, be Rancho and not chatur.
