Do you know that whenever energy is added to the system, the system gains mass? Is there any example of conversion of energy to mass and vice - versa? Yes. A spring's mass increases whenever it is put...
This is the foremost important physics topic. Students very often than not forget Conversion of Units of physical quantities to one system while solving numerical questions. This leads to wrong answers...

False on two counts:
1. It is law of conservation of momentum and not energy.
2. The word total momentum means the sum of momentums, used by you is not correct because it denotes momentum as scalar and adds up momentums in different directions like x, y, z etc i.e.
p = mx + my + mz [Note physical quantity momentum is symbolized as p]
Whereas Momentum is a vector and hence net momentum remains constant in the absence of external force. Momentum in different directions add up vectorially. The force, F = dp/dt (bold letter means vector). That is F = dpx/dt + dpy/dt + dpz/dt.
In the absence of external force, F = 0; therefore dp/dt = 0 ⇒p = constant where p = px + py + pz.

That depends on what field you want to go in to and your personal liking? If you plan for Research in pure science or core theme, then B. Sc. would be a better option. Whereas B. Tech is a field of application of scientific principes. If you have an aptitude for inventing products or towards production where you would be handling machines etc then B. Tech would be a better option.
One important point that may be noted: After completing B. Tech if you want to switch over to pure science field it would be possible but may not be possible vice-versa.
I have done my B. Tech. from IIT/Kanpur in 1978 and currently I am in to teaching Physics for IIT / NEET aspirants and intend to do further studies in Physics. Switch over is very comfortable for me.
