I was a guest faculty for school /college students and even corporates like Maruti etc appointed by NIIT. Depending upon their level of general awareness , one needs to adapt a different approach while teaching different groups . Though there's no limit to the knowledge that can be given about the subject, but I find it helpful to understand the expectations of the particular group from that class. Generally speaking , while teaching young students we're introducing new concepts which they grasp with an open mind and try to build on it , for the older students , we have to fit into their own area of interest first and then try to build on it .

In my experience, 12 class students are very conscious about the value of their time,which is a very good thing.. However I think they are also under lot of pressure and it's important to make them confident by preparing them well. They need to be calmed down and encouraged at the same time so that they handle the pressure with full confidence and perform efficiently without getting intimidated.. Activities like solving past papers or problems help them get a grip over the subject and feel more confident.. hands on practice of solving logical problems after explaining a concept and giving them lot of examples and analogies while explaining the concept can really help them
