What is the difference between joining and blending in Tableau?

Joining is when you're integrating data from the same source (example: multiple tabs in a Google Sheet, or multiple Google Sheets). Blending is when you're combining data from different sources (example: MySQL server and Google Sheets).

What are the advantages of excel over other data analysis tools like Tableau and R.?

You're comparing apples and oranges. Both have different applications and are really good at what they do.

How do I create a filter with a column that has multiple values with a delimiter in Tableau?

Separate the column using the delimiter. Then add 2 different filters to the view.
