if you can maintain the proportion, anatomy, perspective, mood, then you are good at sketching.

Does drawing includes sketching?

Sketching is base of art. Without it, you can not have strong drawing skills. To become a good artist, one must do sketching daily basis.

Do we have to be good in drawing to learn animation

Drawing is base. The more strong base, more strong building. 2D animation require purely traditional drawing skill. You can use softwares for animation, but it has their own limitation. No software can give you 100% 2D animation.

Its all depends on your interest and time that you put on practice. Natural gifted person can learn fast, normal person have to put more time on practice.
