In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to create a nail cutter using Adobe Illustrator. I’ll mostly be drawing shapes and be using the Gradient Tool to accomplish the desired effect. If you’re familiar with Illustrator, you should be able to follow along easily. We will start by dividing the whole project into three parts. 10 to 15 steps are included in each part together with a separate layer. In the end, we will just arrange the layers and get the desired result. Now let’s start.nail cutter

Part 1

1. Select the Pen Tool (p) and create a shape and fill the object with Gradient Color.nail cutter

2. Select the Pen Tool (P) and draw a shape and fill it with Gradient color.nail cutter

3. Create another shape on the top using the Pen Tool(p) and fill it with the Gradient color.nail cutternail cutter

4. Create a different shape in the front and fill it with Linear Gradient.nail cutternail cutter

5. Now draw the gradient shapes using the Pencil Tool and place them at the bottom.nail cutter

6. Now create a shape using the Pen Tool (P) and fill it with linear gradient.nail cutternail cutter

7. Create a shape using the Pen Tool (P) and fill it with linear gradient.nail cutternail cutter

8. Now create a shape using the Pen Tool (P) and fill it with Gradient color. Make the opacity 77%.nail cutter

9. Create a new line using the Pen Tool. Stoke black with opacity of 54%.nail cutter

10. Now select the two black lines and go to Object > Blend > Blend Options. Choose 40 Specified Steps. Go back to Object > Blend > Make (Alt-Control-B).nail cutter

11. This time, select the two white lines and reduce the opacity to 71% and go to Object > Blend > Blend Options. Choose 40 Specified Steps. Go back to Object > Blend > Make (Alt-Control-B).nail cutter

12. Now we will be using the Rectangle Tool. Create a square and fill it with Linear Gradient.nail cutternail cutternail cutter

13. Create a shape and fill it with Liner Gradient color.nail cutter

14. Using the Pen Tool, create a shape and place it properly then fill it with Linear Gradient.nail cutter

15. Now create a new shape using the Pen Tool and fill it with solid white.nail cutter

16. Repeat the step but this time on the other side.nail cutternail cutter

Part 2

17. Take the Pen Tool (P) from the Tool Panel and create the shape as it is shown in the picture below. Make sure that the endpoints match. You can adjust the position of endpoints by using the Direct Selection Tool (A). Fill the shape using the linear gradient.nail cutter

18. Now use the Ellipse Tool (L). Draw a shape and fill it with solid color.nail cutter

19. Copy the shape and place it in front (ctrl+f). Adjust a little and fill it with Gradient color.nail cutter

20. Create a shape and fill it with Linear Gradient.nail cutter

21. Create a shape of solid Black.nail cutter

22. Create a new shape and fill with white.nail cutter

23. Create a shape at the bottom and fill it with white. Reduce the opacity to 32%.nail cutter

24. Create another shape and fill it with Linear Gradient and place in front.nail cutter

25. Copy the same shape and place in front (ctrl+f). Scale it up but this time, fill it with Gradient color.nail cutter

26. Using the Pen Tool, create a shape and fill it with Gradient.nail cutternail cutter

28. Copy the previous shape and place it in front (ctrl+f). Scale it.nail cutter

29. Now create a new shape and fill the shape with white.nail cutter

Part 3

30. Create a new shape using Pen Tool and fill it with linear gradient.nail cutter

31. Fill the new shape with solid white and reduce the opacity to 19%. Change the Blending mode to Screen mode.nail cutter

32. Now create a new shape and fill it with solid white. Reduce the opacity to 19%. Change the Blending mode to Screen mode.nail cutter

33. Using the Pen Tool, create a new shape and fill it with Gradient color.nail cutter

34. Copy the same shape and place it in front (ctrl+f). Scale it up but fill with Gradient color.nail cutter

35. Using the Pen Tool, draw a shape and fill the shape with Gradient color.nail cutternail cutter

36. Using the Pen Tool, draw a shape and fill it with white.nail cutter

37. Copy the previously created object and paste it here.nail cutter

38. Create a circle using the Ellipse Tool and place it properly.nail cutter
39. Now assemble all the parts and place them properly to get the final output.nail cutter
