Collision is defined as a physical phenomenon in which two or more than two bodies come in contact and exchange (change) their momentum as well as kinetic energy (K.E).
Two types of collision:
(1) Elastic collision: it is defined as that collision in which both momentum and kinetic energy of the interacting system or bodies remains conserved.
In this case, (e= 1), where 'e' is called elastic constant, also called the coefficient of restitution.
(2) Inelastic collision: it is defined as that collision in which momentum of the system(bodies) remains conserved, but kinetic energy is lost.
in this case, (e=0).
