The term politics is derived from polis which is Greek in language and it means the city state. Aristotle is regarded as father of political science, in his famous book politics he wrote," Man is by nature a political animal and he who by nature and note by mere accident is without state, is either above humanity or below it".
Traditional View:
According to Dr.Garner, political science begins and ends with the state. Lord Acton says, political science is concerned with the state and with conditions essential for its development.
Modern View:
According to Hobbes politics is struggle for power.it meant a competition to hunt for political power. According to Harold D.Lasswell politics is who gets what when and how.
