For Cpt it is 6000 to register with CA Inst and there will be separate fees for private coaching depending upon the coaching Center u join

I have appeared CPT on 13.12.2015. Regarding IPCC some Institutes are informing that there will be EIGHT subjects. Some others are stating as seven subjects. I have checked ICAI portal. There are seven subjects only. Kindly clarify weather there is any change in curriculum. When can I attend IPCC exams?

Do you need a commerce background in order to write CA exam?
No it's not needed but yes CA course is related to commerce. It doesn't means that only commerce students can write, any stream students can write CA exam
