Overview

Greetings! I am Rishi Anurag, a passionate and skilled music educator and composer with over 15 years of experience playing the guitar and 10 years of teaching music. I hold a Grade 8 certification in Electric Guitar from the renowned Rock School and have been actively involved in music production and performance throughout my career. My expertise extends to various instruments, with a strong focus on guitar, piano, and music composition.

Throughout my teaching journey, I have been following internationally recognized music syllabi such as Rock School and Trinity College London. My own coaching center in Gomti Nagar has been a hub for aspiring musicians, where I offer structured courses tailored to individual needs. Over the years, I have helped many of my students achieve significant milestones, including topping the ABRSM Syllabus and being recognized as the best in North India in 2024 by the Rock School of Music. These accomplishments demonstrate my commitment to nurturing musical talent and ensuring my students achieve excellence.

As a music composer, I bring real-world experience and creativity into my teaching methodology. I emphasize not just technical skills but also the artistry and expression behind music. This approach allows my students to connect with music on a deeper level, developing their own unique musical voices. Whether learning to play the guitar, compose music, or explore the world of piano, I provide a holistic education that encourages both technical proficiency and musicality.

I offer both online and offline music lessons, adapting to the preferences and needs of my students. Each class typically lasts one hour and is designed to be interactive and practical, ensuring that students not only understand music theory but also have the opportunity to apply it in their playing. My lessons cover various aspects of music, from the basics of guitar and piano playing to advanced techniques and composition.

My online lessons are conducted through platforms like Zoom, Skype, and Google Meet, providing flexibility for students to learn from the comfort of their homes. I use live sessions to guide students through their learning process, offering immediate feedback and personalized instruction. Additionally, I provide students with comprehensive notes and study materials aligned with the Rock School and Trinity syllabi, ensuring they have everything they need to succeed.

Whether you're a beginner or an advanced musician, I am here to help you achieve your musical goals. With my vast experience, structured teaching style, and personalized approach, I aim to inspire and cultivate the next generation of talented musicians. Join me for an exciting musical journey, and let's make your musical dreams a reality.

"I have been training Guitar to me for almost a month. I am really happy with his mode of imparting, which is simple though effective. From my experience I can say that, even if you are a complete newbie to playing guitar (like I was), you can definitely consider getting trained by Rishi. "

"My daughter and I wanted to learn guitar together and we searched around and landed with Rishi. For someone who had no knowledge on music and instruments, I was a bit apprehensive. Thanks to Rishi , he made the introduction to music theory and guitar notes so smooth that even some like me in late 40s get interested to learn and practice more. He is very friendly and gives you time and space to learn things your way and feel the music. Even though we just started a month ago, am very positive about my guitar journey with some one like him. "Rishi puts you at ease and lets you discover your level of comfort and pace. His knowledge, including music theory, is immense. As a tutor however, he doesn't let that become an intimidating and overwhelming factor in your learning process. Rather, he relies on practical instructions and handy tips to let you get comfortable. Always encouraging, he actively watches out for things you maybe struggling with, to handhold your progression through the learning and practising process. I would recommend him highly for anyone looking to pick up and learn from scratch. "

Hi Kunal,

Guitar tabs provide you with instructions on how to play a melody, whereas when you strum, you're playing chords, which are the harmony behind the melody, and in some cases, have a melody running on the upper structure of a chord.

Guitar tabs tell you which fret to play at which string. The bottom most line on the tab is the thickest (Low E) string, and the upper most line is the thinnest (high e) string. Then just play the fret at the string it tells you to and you're playing a melody!

For more experienced players, always play the guitar before buying it. It should feel right in your hands, and you should love the sound of it. You might connect more to an inexpensive guitar while the connection might be missing in even a Martin or a Taylor.
F310 will last you the test of time, my experience with Kadence has not been great. I got a Kadence Slowhand, and it had some manufacturing defects. Not saying that the guitars are bad, but there's a slight gamble there. I use Kadence products every day (stands, cables, strings, etc.), and they're perfect, however, I still think they need a couple of years of guitar manufacturing experience to be at par with a manufacturer like Yamaha.

It is advisable to have your own guitar so you can practice by yourself. The biggest part of learning any instrument is practicing, because if you don't practice, you will not get better! So get yourself a guitar even if the tutor is providing you with one.

Hi Srinu!

The fundamentals of music will remain same whether it's Indian classical or Western music, it's just that the approach and theories of music differ within the respective styles of music. It's easier to start with Western music because there's an abundance of teachers, online lessons, dedicated websites and support. If a person's fundamentals are clear and they have strong basics and a good musical vocabulary, they'll be able to understand and play any style of music. :)
