Till 1 AM total time is 8hr Difference of speeds is 75 - 60 = 15 kmph and 1st train already 120 kms ahead of 2nd one. So 2nd train has to cover that extra 120 km. So 120/15 =8hr

CONCEPT: When the trains meet each other, distance travelled by them is same. Time taken by second train is 2 hours less than the first train. CALCULATIONS: Equate the distances 60t=75(t-2) 60t=75t-150 t=10hrs So distance will be, s = 60x10=600km 0r s=75x(10-2)=75x8=600km

After 8 hours, i.e., 1 AM (Next day). Difference of their speeds is 75 - 60 = 15 kmph and 1st train already 120 kms ahead of 2nd one. So 2nd train has to cover that extra 120 km. So 120/15 = 8 hrs.

Let the distance at which the 2 trains meet from station A be x Km. Time taken for 1st train to cover distance x Km = x/60 hr. Time taken for 2nd train to cover distance x Km = x/75 hr 2nd train takes (5pm-3pm) = 2 hrs less than 1st train to cover x Km. i.e., x/60 - x/75 = 2 or, 5x-4x = 2 . 300 or,...

After 600 km i.e. after 8 hours or 1 bje next day both trains will be together Solution Let both trains will meet at distance X km from station A Then according the question Let 2nd train will travel X distance in T time So. Distance =speed ×time X=75×T And by 1st train...

Distance =speed ×time X=75×T And by 1st train X=60(T+2) X=60T+120 NOW. 75T=60T+120 15T=120 T=8 hours So 2nd train will be travelled distance in 8 hours =75×8 =600km And 1st train will be travelled distance in 10 hours =60×10 =600km Hence after travelling 600km both trains will be together read less

Ananya, here is the solution Given : Both trains are moving in same direction and second train started 2hrs late. Asked : After travelling for how many Kilometers will the trains meet? Solution: Since both the trains have started at same point(station A) and will meet at a distance, they are expected to travel equal distance. Assuming t as the number of hours they travelled, Using the formula : Distance=Speed x Time, => D1 = D2 2(60) + t(60) = t(75) 75t - 60t = 120 15t = 120 t= 120/15 = 8hrs Now applying t=8, the distance travelled by first train = 2(60)+8(60) = 600 Km or, the distance travelled by second train = 8(75) = 600 Km Answer: The two trains meet after travelling a distance of 600Km. read less
