Potential V = q/4? ? r where q- charge V-potential due to the charge q r-distance from the charge q Here ? means epsilon naught. Potential is a scalar quantity, it doesn't have direction. It simply gets added as any normal numbers. So lets assume that the two charges are a distance 2d apart. So the centre is at a distance of d from both the charges. -q ----------.---------- +q We have to find the potential at the center. So Potential at the center due to charge q is V1 = q/4? ? d and due to charge -q is V2 = -q/4? ? d. So the total potential is V1 + V2, which when you add is zero. As you can see, the potential will be 0 only when the charges have opposite signs, because only then both the potentials will cancel each other and give 0. Inside a conductor, Since the electric field is equal to the rate of change of potential, this implies that the voltage inside a conductor at equilibrium is constrained to be constant at the value it reaches at the surface of the conductor.

Hi Piyush, in online teaching you have to be systematic and very clear in whatever topic you are targeting and for that you should go point vice, so at least you prepare that piont in your mind before starting your online teaching.
