It’s not that they “must” be super high, but rather dancers choose to wear them high. Higher heels make legs look longer and thus many dancers feel they look confident in them, and their fans agree! Also, the platform on the shoes helps pivoting when dancing. Some dancers wear short heels, sneakers, or go barefoot! It’s really an indivual choice when it comes to footwear.
