A constitution is an official document which contains the guidelines on how a government should be governed ,the fundamental rights and duties of the citizens as well as the states.
Importance:
1) Constitution determines the kind of division of power. For example: In our country the constitution has divided the power into three bodies:
a) Legislature
b) Executive and
c)judiciary
b) Constitution determines the basic structure of a nation. For example: India is a secular nation this means in India everyone is free to practice any religion and the government will not be biased towards any religion.
3) Government functions according to the constitution.
For example: In India, the Elections are held on the basis of process mentioned in constitution.
