Learing guitar by self is hard only if we don't know what to learn next after learing something. I would highly suggest if one can clear some basics of the guitar by learning it from a mentor or teacher. It will give you some knowledge about the basic aspects of playing guitar. Then it would be quite smooth to learn it by self with the help of Google or YouTube.
