I have trained over 100 students since 5-6 years as a foreign language trainer

Tamil Nadu has not officially banned the Hindi language. However, there have been instances of opposition to the imposition of Hindi as a compulsory language in the state due to concerns about preserving Tamil language and culture.

First and foremost let me tell you, there is no banning of Hindi in Tamil Nadu. In schools we are given mandatory English classes. We can choose our second language (most people go for Tamil). So you can see there’s an opportunity for anyone to learn Hindi. You can also find private tutorials that teaches Hindi. There is much politics involved in this issue. If Hindi is made mandatory in schools Tamil language has to face its extinction. Our higher educations are in English. School is the only place where we learn Tamil. I’m well aware of the fact that people in most parts of India speaks Hindi. But my friends and relatives living north are able to manage Hindi within few months. They have never exposed to Hindi in school but are doing well now. read less
