IDs are unique name given to an element. You can specify the properties for access its values by refering to the ID. But Classes can be Generic. The main purpose of Class is Re-usability. Say, you are building a very large website or application wherein you want to follow a specific Style for a group of Elements. Instead of specifiying it again and again for every element, you can Define a Class and Apply it. If you later want to make some improvements, just change the Class, OMG, the changes are automatically applied for all the elements! Add to this, the advantage of using This Class even for other Projects. This makes the Class more powerful.
