Lakshya Purohit

I am Lakshya Purohit, a 25 year old writer, director, photographer, graphic designer and an artist from Jaipur who is in constant search of creatively stimulating avenues that tell a story. Iused to watch old movies with my grandfather from the age of 12 and when he introduced me to Raj Kapoor’s work, I fell in love with films. I graduated in Film Television Production from University of Mumbai and later pursued Visual Art Design at Vancouver Film School for an year. I’ve been fortunate to have opportunities to work across diverse digital mediums for the last eight years while balancing my studies.
I have previously worked as a photographer, animator, graphic designer, video editor and have collaborated with many artists and production houses such as Wizcraft, OML, Cinestan Studios, East India Comedy to name a few. I have also worked in association with social and wildlife organisations such as Room to Read (UNICEF), Animal Welfare Board of India, Hope and Beyond for various projects. I have worked on a web series called Mumbai Portal in collaboration with Shared Studios and The Better India and worked as second Assistant Director in Epic channel’s ‘Jaane Pehchaane’.
I dream to be a storyteller and tell stories I’ve written, heard and grown up with. I wish to make films and build a nurturing community of artists .
