When I started learning React, Sublime Editor was hyped all around me.
However, I remember it sucked big time when dealing with the JSX syntax then. For suggestions, I had to install plugins. Searching in the project directories was troublesome. Code complete….meh! Terminal access…..what’s that?
So, I researched and found that one of the first adopters of React and JSX were Jet Brains. WebStorm was their powerful and smart Javascript editor which needed little configuration to start with React.
After using it for sometime, I was in awe and became a fan of WebStorm. I had tried other IDEs but WebStorm always felt like home.
So, specifically for React, go for WebStorm because it has everything and more that you will ever need.
Currently, I use PyCharm, another IDE from Jet Brains, because our back-end is in Python. However, it works as good as WebStorm for React with a small configuration change that takes about 2–3 minutes.
