This couse will cover only KINEMATICS.
Topics covered would be
- Introduction to vectors, Dot product of two vectors, Vector Components, and Unit vectors, application of vectors in kinematics
- Calculus for physics, meaning of derivates, basics of differentiation, Meaning of integration, basics of integration, applicatons of calculus in kinematics
- Motion in a straing line
- Motion in a plane
- Circular motion
- Motion involving a combination of linear and circular motions
- Reference Frames - Intertial and accelerating reference frames, rotating reference frames, and changing reference frames
Students would be first taught the concepts. This would followed by examples to demonstrate the laws of kinematics and how to apply the concepts that have been taught.
This would be followed by problem solving session.
Selected problems would be done from:
1. HC Verma/Resnick/University Physics (any one)
2. Problems in General Physics I.E.Irodov (MOST important)
3. Past IIT JEE question papers
