NEET:
I am sure many have bad experiences since 2 attempts (no offence).
1. Why are the students troubled?
The answer is very simple, change your attitude, perspectives towards the entrance. State board students have a problem with tricky/ intellectual questions & CBSE ones are irked with the contents. Before appearing for any test, we need to thorough ourselves according to the prescribed syllabus.
Tips for NEET:
- Profused knowledge on the subject, secondly application of your knowledge, thirdly conceptual understanding.
- Neet is not sumthing fell from the sky. It's our own +2 level syllabus. The kind/way we are tested is different. Conceptual understanding is the only key to succeeding I believe. No shortcuts.
- The better we understand the concepts, the better we understand the questions of our testing & the better we answer.
2. How to do with animal biology & human physiology?
Animal Biology: While learning with classification, try to read elaboratively on organ systems of organisms like Pheritima (Annelids), Periplaneta, (Arthropoda), Rana tigrina (Amphibia). Stress on the common & scientific names of invertebrates.
Then start with human biology. By now you might be aquatinted with the terminology of various systems & physiological functions. Hence start with the systems, anatomy, physiology, functions & finish of one by one.
3. How shall we plan for botany?
The answer is first to let us divide the whole portion into certain parts. Plant physiology, plant morphology, plant taxonomy, plant anatomy & metabolic activities. Plant morphology involves so many examples, hence be careful. Anatomy is the easiest thing cell structure, tissues followed by stem, root & leaf anatomy.
Plant taxonomy: once perfect with terminology in morphology, taxonomy is no big deal. Care to be taken only with the floral formulae.
Metabolic pathways like photosynthesis, c3, c4, Calvin pathways, electron transport chain. The various enzymes involved & energy changes in terms of ATP, ADP, NADP, NADPH.
One more important arena in biology is genetics, followed by applied biology i.e biotechnology. Tricky questions to be expected from genetics, hence practice on Mendel's crossing, laws.
Biology scores decide our performance, hence makes sure of not leaving any single topic.
