Hi All, I'm planning to learn Microsoft Power BI, but I do not have any knowledge in SSAS from MSBI. So do I need to learn SSAS first before joining in Power BI classes? Suggest me?

Hi Kumar, you dont need to have knowledge on SSAS to start working on PBI. You can staright away can join PBI classes. You can contact me for PBI classes if needed.

No need to have SSAS knowledge Kumar, but you need to have good knowledge of Excel operations and Pivot table, chart creations as Power BI uses lot of Excel features. Additional knowledge of any RDBS(though not mandatory) will be an added plus. Ramesh (Power BI Consultant)

Hi Kumar, It is not at all reqd to have SSAS knowledge. Power BI itself is an anlytical tool which can be connected to any database. This tool can be used to do analysis on structured and unstructured data. so it is upto you which databse are you going to use for analysis purpose.

Power BI is the advance level of SSAS and eventually it will replace SSAS. Infact you need to learn T-SQL first before going to Power BI.

You don't require knowledge on SSAS. For Power BI you can refer Sukesh Kumar. He has great experience in Power BI and provide real time scenerios examples

Mr. Kumar, if you are learning Excel Power BI i dont think u need to have a great knowledge in SSAS or any other database just a decent knowledge the Excel and Access will do.
