Doing yoga regularly is anyways for good of one from all perspective and that has been proved. But in broader terms you can say yoga helps in reducing stress, calm your mind, physical development, cure in many disorder/diseases, helping in making harmony between body and mind etc. ...more

So many types of yoga is there like hath yoga, vinyasa yoga, patanjali yoga, power yoga, ashtang yoga and so on. Whichever type of yoga is there, all take you to the path of development of yourself.
