NDA Exam

NDA is the national defence academy which trains the cadets of the Indian Armed forces before they are commissioned to their posts and missions. NDA is located in Pune. Joining NDA and thereby serving the country through the armed forces is the most respected and satisfying career graph a candidate can achieve. A candidate dedicated to serving the country should appear for the NDA exam which recruits suitable candidate after rigorous written and field exams. If a candidate is selected and thereby commissioned in the Indian Armed forces, he/she becomes entitled to the perks and facilities the government provides for him and his family for life long. Facilities like subsidized housing, free medical, canteen facilities, group insurance cover, soft loans for house and/or vehicle etc. No other organization provides such benefits life long. The glory and prestige associated with joining the armed forces is unmatched. The emphasis in NDA is on character building, esprit-de-corps, mental and physical robustness, leadership and a sense of keen observation. NDA exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission, for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA.

The Eligibility criteria is quite detailed. The candidate should be an unmarried Indian citizen not born before 2nd January,1996  and not post 1st January ,1999.

• Educational Qualifications:

1. For Army wing of National Defence Academy: Class 12 pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or University.
2. For Air Force and Naval Wings of National Defence Academy : Class 12 pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

Candidates who are in class 12 can also apply for the examination

• Physical Standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (I), 2014.
