It is impossible to become a User Experience designer without much experience. Many got misled by the title and learning the wrong skills.

Learning UI design skills is the key; having a strong knowledge of design foundations like typography, color, grid, layout composition, Iconagory, the illustration would fetch you the high-paying job you desire. 

Very, High proficiency in design tools like Figma, sketch, XD and basic knowledge of UX would be enough to fetch a job. Instead, bare UX design knowledge without any experience in UI would be hard to sell.
