Prosthodontics focuses on restoring oral function and aesthetics through the design and fitting of prosthetic devices, such as dentures, crowns, bridges, and implants. It addresses missing or damaged teeth, improving patients' quality of life and oral health. In prosthodontics, students learn about the diagnosis, treatment planning, and rehabilitation of patients with missing or deficient teeth and oral structures. Key topics include complete and partial dentures, fixed prosthetics (such as crowns and bridges), dental implants, and maxillofacial prosthetics. The curriculum covers occlusion, esthetics, materials science, and digital dentistry techniques.
Practical skills focus on the fabrication of prosthetic devices, patient management, and understanding the biological and mechanical principles that underpin prosthodontic treatments. Emphasis is placed on restoring function, comfort, and aesthetics to improve patients’ oral health and quality of life. Students engage clinical experiences to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world scenarios.
