Oracle's E-Business Suite (also known as Applications /Apps or EB-Suite/EBS) consists of a collection of enterprise resource planning(ERP) customer relationship management (CRM), and supply-chain management (SCM) computer applications either developed or acquired by Oracle.
Oracle apps is a set of softwares or Applications, Oracle Financials has five core modules : General Ledger, Payables, Receivables, Cash Management, Assets. One should have knowledge in above five modules to become a Oracle apps Financials functional consultant. In IT industry a consultnat will get work in different type of Projects like, Implementation, Support and Maintenance, Enhancement, Rollout etc,.
Implementation Projects: The ERP Product parent companies also provides the Implementation Methodologies, so that the ERP consultants can follow the Phases of the application implementation methodology. Phases includes from the understanding of the client or customer business to go-live of the ERP in client business.
Support and Maintenance projects: This is an another kind of project. Generally after implementation employees of the client or customer who got implemented of ERP may get issues in actual business process. Example : Employee may get the ERROR at the time of creating Invoice document. The business need support to reduce or to get resolution for the issues. The functional or technichal consultants are capable to resolve this kind of issues. Generally the duration of the support projects are longer than Implementation Projects.
Oracle Financials: Under Oracle Financials five core applications are available, are General Ledger, Payables, Receivables, Cash Management, Assets. All the above applications are intigrated with some other applications. Example : To Purchase an asset and put in to service, business need to have Purchasing, Payables and Fixed assets applications.
