BP raises after doing any exercise. That is not just for BP patients but for everyone. This is a normal response of the body, but this is transient and will setlle on it's own. However, if your BP is high even before exercise, i.e. even when you are resting, then you need to consult a doctor and check if you need medicines to get that in control.

At the time that your BP is high, it is best to avoid any kind of exercise and just take rest [along with medication, if prescribed]. Once the BP reduces you can start with some mild exercises, including yoga, under the guidance of an instructor. In the long run, exercise, pranayama and the correct diet can help normalise high BP and may even get you off medicines.
