Soumen Chakraborty

I am an Associate Professor in St. Edmunds College in the department of Electronics. I am giving online and home tuitions for Classes 11 and 12 and B.Sc level in Physics, Mathematics and Electronics. I am certified in teaching the above mentioned subjects. I have a Masters degree in Electronics. My key skills are public speaking, communicating and I am very passionate about sharing my knowledge with students and give them the best possible teaching experience. My Achievements includes-
Instrumental in the formation of syllabus for BTech in Electronics Engineering and also as an examiner at the start of the BTech department in NEHU,Shillong.
One of the key member in the starting of Electronics in Degree level, framing the syllabus, also examiner in Mizoram Central University.
One of the key initiator in starting BCA, framing the syllabus and also an examiner for BCA in St. Edmund’s college, St. Marry’s college, Shillong under NEHU.
Served as an examiner in for ITI, Assam for the period of 2009 to 2012, and also a member of selection committee for faculty in ITI, Assam.
Invited guest lecturer in Indian Institute of Bank management, Guwahati for the period of 2008-2009, for pertaining the training on “Trouble shooting in LAN” for the bank employees”.
Invited as guest lecturer in Assam Police Radio Communication to pertain training on “Microwave and optical communication system” in the year 2008 -2009.
Invited guest lecturer at University of Science and Technology in BTech ECE department since 2012, as well as in ‘Teachers training program’.
Guided and published paper on “ Study of Electrical and Optical Behavior of Banana Fiber, under DBT scheme to show that it resembles almost same as Optical fiber with the students of sixth semester, Electronics Department, St. Edmund’s college, Shillong, Which is first of its kind of work with Banana Fiber.

Presented paper and published in Indo-Japan symposium at CGCRI, Kolkata.2011 on ‘polarization technique and its significance in the field of Photonics’.
Delivered invited lecture on the Golden Jubilee of Karimganj Government college, Physics department, 2013, on” Maxwell equations- the basic fundamental and its application on optical communication”.
Delivered invited lecture on National seminar in Lady Keane College, Physics department, 2012 on “Significance and application of Maxwell equations in Microwave communication”.
Delivered invited talk at St. John’s College, Kolkata, physics department on ‘fundamentals of Photonics’, in the year 2015.
Delivered invited talk in the Physics Post Graduate department, Digboi College, Assam, 2019, on “Electronics-analog to Digital, a transition”.
