I have worked on HMI with SIEMENS TSP NORTH ( training service provider ) . the software used will be WINCC BASIC on TIA PORTAL. I have trained students and professionals on different variant of HMI from different PSU's , universities , colleges and industries. Human-machine interface or HMI is a common part of everyday life. Every interaction that we do with any machine whether it is an ATM, a mobile phone, or an industrial tool, HMI assists by converting human instructions into machine language which helps them to operate accordingly. HMI helps in the efficient controlling of work even from a remote location which ensures the safety of the workers in an industrial plant. HMI visual screens display real-time graphic information with the assistance of sophisticated software like positions of machines, etc. To put it in simple words, HMI provides the user interface to control a machine. The use of HMI in industrial set-ups aids in having an uninterrupted automated production. It helps in resolving maintenance issues. Some key benefits of HMI are: ● Boosts rate of production ● Reduces work-related accidents and improves on-site ● Helps lower hardware costs ● Eases managerial tasks HMI is extremely useful for industries related to manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, food and beverages, etc. It can be used to carry out both simple and complex jobs. It only requires customized programming according to the specific requirements of the plant and it is ready to monitor, control, and safeguard machines and operations without the need for human intervention. Some key features of HMI are: Dashboard personalization: HMI Allows machinery operators to choose their necessary tools as per their preferences and design their own virtual workspace. Naturally, you will also provide technical support for these custom solutions. Therefore, it’s important that you are able to: identify areas of technical risks understand critical processes and technical requirements define and document system design specifications . SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) is a category of software applications for controlling industrial processes, which is the gathering of data in Real Time from remote locations in order to control equipment and conditions. SCADA provides organizations with the tools needed to make and deploy data-driven decisions regarding their industrial processes. One of the most commonly used types of industrial control system, SCADA can be used to manage almost any type of industrial process. SCADA systems include hardware and software components. The hardware gathers and feeds data into field controller systems, which forward the data to other systems that process and present it to a human-machine interface (HMI) in a timely manner. SCADA systems also record and log all events for reporting process status and issues. SCADA applications warn when conditions become hazardous by sounding alarms.
