NEGATIVE SENTENCES
STRUCTURE
Subject + don’t/doesn’t + verb- 1st form+ object.
Note: Do not add s/es to the 1st form of the verb ( 1st form of the verb given in the verb list ) with any subject used in the conversation when the sentence is negative.
- Subject ‘I’ is always treated as first person in the English language and when talking or making negative sentences use the word don’t with the 1st form of the verb without s/es.
Examples:
- I don’t come on Sundays.
- I don’t sing Hindi songs.
- I don’t talk to strangers.
- I don’t like to gossip.
- I don’t love ice-cream.
- I don’t speak
- I don’t respect others who don’t respect me.
- Subect ‘You’ is always treated as a second person in English language and when talking or making negative sentences use the word don’t with the 1st form of the verb without s/es.
- You don’t act well
- You don’t adjust very fast.
- You don’t answer to all the questions.
- You don’t believe
- You don’t check the products.
- Subject ‘He/She/It/The Plant/The animal/The machine/A girl/The boy/Ramesh/Anu etc.’is always treated as a third person Singular in English language and when talking or making negative sentences use the word doesn’t with the 1st form of the verb without s/es.
- He doesn’t draw money from the ATM.
- She doesn’t choose her clothes carefully.
- Anu (Any name) doesn’t conduct classes for money.
