In my view, it takes six months to complete the SSC CGL course. I will tell you why. If you are a fresher and have no idea about competitive exams, then you might take more time to learn. On the other hand, if you have the subject knowledge, the idea about such exams, love for mathematics, basics of English then you would need only 180 days to be ready for the main examination.
Talking about how much time to devote every day, it depends on you. If you are working, then you will have time only in the evening. If you don't work anywhere and have a full day with you, then utilise it correctly. Have a time table for at least 8 hours a day. Wake up early and go to bed early. Avoid family functions altogether, usage of phones must be reduced, Sunday is not a holiday for you once you start preparing. Let me stop. It is more than enough for a beginner.
And yeah, go for classroom coaching instead of online if possible. You might be able to do group study there. Group study can help you a lot.
Good luck! Prepare well.
