Teaching Experience in detail in Vocal Music classes
Teaching started with the idea of learning new things along the journey. And it's been 15 years now. Analysing the strengths and weakness of each learner and training them accordingly is something I love doing. I remember my teachers saying, a good teacher is the one who holds the hands of the weakest and pulls them up. Contrary to the belief that music is only in genes, I have witnessed students coming from absolute lack of music in family doing good, despite initial struggles. Though not all become great singers, they start appreciating good music. And what can be more beautiful than carnatic music. Indian classical music is an invaluable gift to mankind. Its highly satisfying to witness students identify ragas, share their experiences of a kutcheri, enjoy carnatic music as much as western and get ranks in exams. Music has also worked as a medicine to a lot of elderly students, to over come depression, over come mid age crisis, when pressures.. School going kids have witnessed better concentration, over come dyslexia, have over all development. Along with learning music, I also try to my students a better samaritan. Every year we do a fund raising show. Till now we gave raised funds to help a child fight, save water, rejuvenate lakes etc. Along with teaching students in India, I also teach students from other countries with students from all coasts of US, NZ, Australia, Dubai and parts of Europe.

"She has a very good voice. Helps us to understand what is being taught. She has taught us the basics of Carnatic music after doing a lot of research on it. Very hard working and dedicated. She tranalates the keertanas to help us understand the meaning of the songs. She has different teaching styles for different age groups. Unless we finish learning the previous lessons she doesn't teach further. She also conducts summer camp and recently she had organised a music concert to encourage all the students to learn more music and to adopt in our routine. It's fun taking classes with her. She narrates stories related to the kritis for better understanding of the situation. she is well trained in music and has great devotion towards it. "

"I found Mrs. Ashwini as a dedicated and young professional classical music singer and a teacher. Noticed students of her varying from very young to elderly participants. Glad to find her (through UrbanPro) on my way of searching for a good teacher for my children in Bangalore. The best qualities I like in her is - 1. Enthusiasm to teach others with whatever the knowledge she acquired 2. Teaching from the level that it required to be - wondered to see the in-depth knowledge of her basics on classic music (I saw her started teaching my children from the very basics like founder of this music, explaining what each character represents, etc.) 3. Create facility and encourage learners/students to participate in small concerts, which would raise confidence and more enthusiasm for students to learn more. Last but not the least, "Thank You Mrs. Ashwini!" for all your great efforts and individual care taking to groom my children in the world of Music. "

"Ashwini has an amazing amount of patience with every student and spends time with everyone in each batch. She always explains the context for each exercise which is very helpful for beginners like me. She also makes sure students practice what has been taught before moving to the next learning module. It has been fun learning music with her. "

"Ashwini is a very good music teacher. She makes sure that we learn all the swaras perfectly. She teaches with lot of patience. She also teaches theory along with the swaras. Individual attention is given by her to every of her student so that our mistakes do not go unnoticed and learn everything perfectly. She also shares the audio clips of swaras so that we can practice at home correctly. Over all she is a very perfect teacher and I also recommended her to my friends. "

"I have been learning from Ashwini for 7 months now. I can say that she is an excellent singer and a great teacher. She takes individual and group classes based on the their shruthi and singing. Even in group classed, she makes everyone sing individually until they are perfect. Pace completely depends on how good the student is practising and performing. She teaches few songs as well from the start, this gives satisfaction and a change from swaras once in a while. Very friendly and interactive sessions. Overall, it is a very good experience and I would definitely recommend to my friends. "

"'A remarkable teacher!' My daughter has been taking classes from Ashwini for about eight months now. She makes students learn perfectly- the raaga, tala and shruti. Although, she conducts group classes, she gives individual attention. Her passion of teaching has brought interest and inspiration to not only my daughter but also her group-mates. "

For Carnatic Music, the state board exams Hav similar syllabus with few exceptions which depends from state to state. And these are valid across all’s tates. Preparation for the exam makes you a lot perfect and it gives you an insight to ur preparedness and knowledge irrespective of your score.

Hi savitha. Learning basics enables you to sing diverse songs, here I not only mean genre, Interms of complexity as well. Coming to your question, if your aim is to sing a film song like lakdi ki kaathi, or a devotional Song like a achyutam Keshavam u don’t need basics, but if you wanna sing mere dholna, or mahaganapathim, u definitely need basics and a good training.

Having a classical base not just increases your knowledge and abilities to understand but helps you to do different genres. Light music is a very big term which has a lot of genres. Before you learn light music you are first made to learn basics of classical music, where voice culture is taught as well, not just gives a great voice and stability but helps you in modulation many imps for light music.
